12 Months (Possibility of Extension) 100% Onsite Job Summary The Sr Financial Analyst provides accounting and financial reporting activities in support of the Corporate Benefits Finance team. The primary objectives of Corporate Benefits Finance team are the accurate accounting and as providing financial reporting for Corporate HR Benefits business partners. The Corporate Benefits Finance team manages a +$1B gross budget and corresponding allocations across Abbott as well as compliance and Trust activities for the Abbott benefits plans. This role interfaces with Abbott senior leaders and external auditors. Corporate Benefits accounting and reporting requires critical analysis and forward thinking to analyze and understand the financial implications between benefit programs, payroll, headcount, and business operations from an internal and external point of view. This position will also play a key role in transforming the Corporate Benefits accounting and reporting processes by utilizing new financial tools and processes and identifying/implementing technology and process efficiencies for the organization. Job Responsibilities Month-end closing activities, including, journal entry preparation, account analysis, intercompany transfers, account reconciliations and financial reporting for Corporate Benefits and other Corporate organizations. Perform financial and business analytics and participate in the decision making process Ensure compliance with SOX, ERISA, internal controls, Abbott Corporate and division/department specific policies and procedures Provide support for internal and external audits and Corporate Tax requests Execute timely and accurate financial activities in support of business partners. Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures for assigned activities. Operate independently, be flexible in changing environment and challenge the status quo. Education Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting 5+ years of experience in general accounting/reporting. Strong Microsoft skills, including use of pivot tables, vlookups and analysis of data using Excel, some VBA macros knowledge helpful Ability to summarize/analyze large data sets with the aid of Microsoft tools, Power BI, Alteryx or similar applications Requires knowledge of applying accounting principles and regulations to business situations.
