Job Description
Staples is business to business. You're what binds us together. Join Staples' Finance Analytics team and play a critical role in shaping data‑driven business decisions. As a Senior Analyst II, you'll analyze complex financial data, influence strategic initiatives, and partner closely with business leaders to drive profitability and long‑term growth. What you'll be doing:
- Conduct in‑depth financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions and strategies
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports, trends, and forecasts for senior leadership
- Partner cross‑functionally to gather, validate, and analyze financial data
- Develop and maintain dashboards and models tracking key performance indicators
- Identify financial risks and provide actionable recommendations
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes aligned with organizational goals
- Perform scenario analysis to inform planning and investment decisions
- Participate in enterprise and special projects requiring advanced analytics What you bring to the table:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail

- Ability to influence decision‑making through data‑driven recommendations What's needed -
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressively complex experience in financial analysis or related field
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling
- Experience analyzing large and complex financial data sets
- Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles What's needed -
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Finance or related field
- Experience with financial planning and analysis systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion)
- Experience using SQL and/or data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior analysts
- Exposure to predictive analytics or machine learning tools
