ABOUT THE ROLE
The Analyst supports Bolton's Investment Consulting Group (ICG) by preparing and reviewing performance reports for defined contribution and defined benefit plans and assisting with plan reviews, provider searches, and fee benchmarking studies. Partnering with consultants, plan sponsors, recordkeepers, custodians, and third-party administrators, the Analyst delivers accurate, high-quality work that protects client interests and strengthens relationships. The role also builds investment research skills, supporting the CIO and senior investment staff with data gathering and analysis for manager research and due diligence—an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented self-starter looking to grow within a collaborative, quality-focused team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Prepare and review performance reports for defined contribution and defined benefit plans Support plan reviews, fee benchmarking studies, and provider RFPs—including data collection, analysis, and documentation Maintain fiduciary and governance documentation and perform detailed document reviews to identify potential client risks Assist the CIO and senior investment staff with data gathering and analysis for investment manager research and due diligence Serve as a liaison for clients with custodians, recordkeepers, and third-party administrators Prepare rebalancing recommendations, direction letters, and meeting minutes for client and internal investment committees

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or a related field 0-3 years of investment-related experience (Defined Contribution plan experience preferred) Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) and PowerPoint, with proficiency across the broader Microsoft Office Suite Ability to compile, analyze, and quality-check data for accuracy in reports and deliverables Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of IRS and DOL rules governing retirement plans Familiarity with plan reviews, fee benchmarking studies, and provider RFP processes Understanding of financial markets and investment consulting principles Progress toward the CFA charter (e.g., completion of Level I) Travel Requirements Estimated travel: Minimal May include local day travel and occasional conferences or training events
