Job Description
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support a non-profit organization in Lewiston, Maine through a Contract position. This role focuses on turning financial data into clear insights that help leaders make informed decisions, improve planning, and monitor organizational performance. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, comfort with modeling and reporting, and the ability to investigate trends, exceptions, and financial results with accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial results and operational data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities that support business decision-making.
- Build and maintain financial models used for forecasting, budgeting, scenario planning, and performance evaluation.
- Perform customized financial reviews in response to leadership requests, delivering timely insights for strategic and day-to-day needs.
- Compare actual results against forecasts and budgets, then explain key variances through clear and well-supported analysis.
- Gather, organize, and interpret large data sets using effective data mining techniques to improve reporting accuracy and uncover meaningful trends.
- Prepare financial summaries, dashboards, and presentations that translate complex information into concise recommendations for stakeholders.
- Partner with internal teams to validate assumptions, improve financial visibility, and strengthen planning processes across the organization.
