Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dental Financial Coordinator to join our team. This vital role involves managing patient financial interactions, ensuring accurate billing and coding, and facilitating smooth financial processes within our practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical billing knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of dental and medical coding systems. Responsibilities Manage patient billing processes, including insurance claims submission, payment posting, and account reconciliation. Maintain detailed medical records related to billing and coding activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with clinical staff to verify treatment plans align with insurance requirements and coding protocols. Address patient inquiries regarding billing statements, payment options, and outstanding balances promptly and professionally. Stay current with updates in medical coding standards (DRG, CPT coding) and insurance policies to optimize reimbursement processes. Skills Strong knowledge of medical coding systems including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG
(Diagnosis-Related Group), and ICD coding. Experience with dental billing software and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately process complex billing transactions. Effective communication skills for explaining financial information clearly to patients and team members. Prior experience in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with insurance verification procedures and compliance standards related to medical billing.
