The Opportunity We are seeking a Paraplanner to join our team in-office, in Marlton, New Jersey. Reporting directly to a Lead Planner , the Paraplanner will play an important role in the financial planning process by helping gather and analyze client information, prepare financial plans, develop planning recommendations and support advisors in delivering a high level of service to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with financial services experience who wants to expand their technical planning knowledge, work closely with experienced financial planners and advisors, and pursue the CFP® certification . Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis Assist the Lead Planner and advisory team in preparing comprehensive financial plans and planning analyses. Gather, organize and review client financial information and supporting documents. Enter and maintain accurate client information within financial planning software. Prepare reports, projections and analyses related to retirement, cash flow, investments, insurance, education, taxes and estate planning considerations. Identify missing information and planning issues requiring additional analysis or advisor attention. Assist in modeling planning scenarios and evaluating potential strategies. Update financial plans as client circumstances, goals and financial information change. Client Meeting Preparation & Follow-Up Prepare materials and reports for client planning and review meetings. Participate in client meetings as appropriate and support the Lead Planner in documenting planning discussions and recommendations. Coordinate follow-up items resulting from planning meetings. Work with advisors and other team members to help ensure planning recommendations are implemented and tracked. Planning Systems & Data Maintain accurate and complete information within financial planning and CRM systems. Assist with account aggregation, data reconciliation and financial planning system maintenance. Help improve planning workflows, templates and processes as the firm continues to enhance its financial planning capabilities. Utilize technology efficiently to improve the accuracy, consistency and scalability of the planning process. Team Collaboration Work closely with the Lead Planner, advisors and client service team to provide a coordinated client experience. Communicate effectively with clients, advisors and other professionals as needed. Support a collaborative environment in which planning, investment management and client service work together. Maintain the confidentiality and discretion required when handling sensitive client financial information. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is analytical, organized and genuinely interested in financial planning. You should be comfortable working with financial data while also understanding that successful planning ultimately revolves around people, their goals and their families. We are looking for someone who: Has at least 2 years of experience in financial services, financial planning, investment advisory services or a related field . Has a working understanding of financial planning concepts, investment products and financial markets. Has experience using financial planning software and/or CRM systems. Is comfortable reading and analyzing financial statements, account information and spreadsheets. Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy. Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a team-oriented environment. Has strong written and verbal communication skills. Exercises sound judgment, professionalism and discretion. Is proactive, curious and willing to learn. Is interested in developing deeper financial planning expertise and taking on greater responsibility over time. Education & Licensing Bachelor's degree in finance, financial planning, business or a related field preferred. Series 7 preferred. Series 66 is a plus. Interest in pursuing or progressing toward the CFP® certification is a plus and strongly encouraged within first year of employment. Technology Experience Experience with financial planning and wealth management technology is preferred. Familiarity with platforms such as eMoney, Moneyguide Pro, Holistiplan, Nitrogen, Wealthbox, Microsoft Office and related financial-services technology is beneficial. More important than experience with any one platform is the ability to learn new systems, maintain accurate data and use technology effectively as part of the financial planning process.
