About the Position Karbone is seeking a Trading & Portfolio Analyst to support the growth of our Capacity and Power Desks, working directly alongside originators and traders to analyze and manage a portfolio of positions across North America. The role combines economic modeling, profit optimization, regulatory analysis, and operational support to optimize portfolio inventory and scheduling, including cross-functional coordination across Operations and Risk. This is a hands-on opportunity offering direct exposure to grid reliability and energy markets, and platform expansion within a growing business. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain multivariate economic models to analyze market trends across North American Capacity, Ancillary Service, and Power markets Perform portfolio analysis and optimization function Analyze regulatory and programmatic filings; identify opportunities Partner with Operations, Risk, and IT to maintain trade capture and portfolio management tools, ensure accurate position tracking, delivery scheduling, and internal reporting. Support Originators and Traders with transaction structuring and model review; partner with Risk to ensure that risk management parameters are properly quantified and maintained Assist Origination with customer acquisition and maintenance; facilitate pitch decks, memos, research reports, etc. Support Origination in new domestic market expansion and international market entry Qualifications 1-3 years of analysis or operations experience within an energy trading environment Exposure to power and/or capacity markets Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Proficiency in LLM and Google Cloud tools preferred Proficiency in Spanish a plus Proficiency in Python a plus
