Job Description
Desert Hills Dental Care is looking for a dependable, personable, and detail-oriented Financial Coordinator to join our busy dental practice in Farmington, NM. More than anything, we are looking for the right fit for our team . Previous experience as a dental Financial Coordinator or Treatment Coordinator would be ideal, and any dental experience is a definite plus. However, we are also open to someone with strong experience in finance, insurance, banking, healthcare, or customer service who has the right personality, professionalism, and ability to learn. This is a patient-facing financial position, so the right candidate must be comfortable discussing money , explaining treatment costs and payment options, and helping patients navigate dental insurance and financial decisions with confidence and compassion. What We're Looking For Excellent communication and patient-relations skills Comfortable discussing fees, balances, insurance benefits, and payment options Highly detail-oriented and accurate Able to think clearly and problem-solve under pressure Organized and able to manage multiple priorities Dependable, honest, mature, and professional Kind and patient, while still being confident and direct when needed Able to follow through and take ownership of responsibilities A positive team member who is receptive to feedback and willing to learn Responsibilities Present treatment fees and estimated patient portions Help patients understand their dental insurance benefits Discuss payment arrangements and financing options Answer financial questions related to recommended dental treatment Document financial arrangements and payment agreements Submit insurance pre-estimates/pre-authorizations with appropriate attachments Monitor and post pre-authorizations Submit claims and supporting documentation Post patient and insurance payments Prepare patient statements Balance daily transactions and prepare deposits Maintain thorough and accurate account documentation Experience Dental experience is strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate. Experience in financial coordination, treatment coordination, dental insurance, accounting, banking, healthcare, collections, or other positions involving financial conversations is highly valued. Experience with Dentrix is a plus. Competitive hourly pay based on experience, plus bonus
