JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Securities Portfolio Analyst is part of a group that manages the fixed income securities portfolio for BankUnited. This position supports the Chief Investment Office in creating periodic reporting and quantitative analysis designed to monitor and analyze the performance of the Bank's investment portfolio. The role will work closely with the Investment Office and will also interact with the Credit, Operations, and Technology teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain portfolio reports using database management and analytical tools including Python, AWS, SQL, Bloomberg, CAS, Tableau, and Intex
  • Perform and document investment analysis, credit stress scenarios, and interest rate shocks on fixed income securities purchases and sales
  • Assist Portfolio Managers in managing quarterly securities portfolio valuation process
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers on portfolio construction, investment strategy, and performance assessment utilizing data, statistical, and computational analysis
  • Participate in special projects for Portfolio Managers which includes computational and quantitative analysis skillsAdheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.
e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.

Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science or related quantitative field required Experience
  • 0-3 Years of work experience required
  • Experience with structured products a strong plus
  • Experience with CAS and or Intex a plus
  • Experience working with data using Python (NumPy, Pandas, etc...) strongly preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Comfortable using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc Excel VBA experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Services, such as EC2, Lambda, Athena, Glue, and Redshift a plus Additional InformationCandidates residing in locations within BankUnited's footprint may be given preference.

    Ability to speak, read and write in the English language; Spanish (or other languages) helpful.     Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs. An understanding of higher mathematical concepts may be required for specific departments.
