POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Optimization & Systems Analyst will support strategic projects focused on improving financial processes, systems, reporting, and data governance across the organization. The ideal candidate combines a strong foundation in accounting and financial consolidation with systems aptitude, analytical capability, and project-management discipline. This is a hands-on role for someone who can understand the accounting implications of a process or system change, analyze complex data, and drive projects from problem identification through implementation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance Systems and Reporting Support the design, implementation, testing, and ongoing improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, and related integrations. Translate accounting and finance requirements into clear functional and technical requirements. Evaluate system functionality and recommend improvements that strengthen efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and internal controls. Participate in ERP upgrades, system implementations, data conversions, and user acceptance testing. Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, reconciliations, and analytical tools. Troubleshoot financial system and reporting issues in coordination with Finance and IT. Help ensure financial systems appropriately support the general ledger, consolidations, intercompany activity, and management reporting. Process Optimization and Special Projects Lead or support cross-functional projects involving financial processes, systems, reporting, and organizational change. Document current-state processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and design practical future-state solutions. Develop project plans, track milestones and dependencies, and communicate progress, risks, and decisions. Standardize and automate manual processes where appropriate. Develop policies, procedures, process documentation, and training materials that support sustainable adoption. Assist Finance leadership with strategic initiatives and other special projects as needed. Accounting and Consolidation Support Apply strong accounting knowledge to evaluate the financial reporting and control implications of proposed changes. Support improvements to monthly close, consolidation, intercompany elimination, account reconciliation, and management reporting processes. Analyze financial information across business units and legal entities to identify inconsistencies, errors, and improvement opportunities. Help ensure system configurations and reporting logic align with accounting policies and reporting requirements. Partner with Accounting teams to improve the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial information. Data Governance and Controls Support finance data governance standards, including data ownership, definitions, hierarchies, approval protocols, and change controls. Perform data-quality assessments and coordinate resolution of identified issues. Maintain documentation of data lineage, reporting logic, key controls, and system dependencies. Ensure process and system improvements incorporate appropriate internal controls, auditability, security, and segregation of duties. Serve as a liaison among Finance, Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders regarding financial data and reporting requirements.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, general-ledger accounting, financial close, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity consolidations. Demonstrated ability to understand financial data flows from source systems through the general ledger, consolidation, and reporting. Experience working with ERP, consolidation, financial reporting, or business-intelligence systems. Working knowledge of data governance, master data, data quality, and internal-control concepts. Strong analytical, problem-solving, project-management, and organizational skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and drive cross-functional work to completion. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical or accounting matters to varied audiences. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, SQL, data visualization, or automation tools is preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Five or more years of relevant experience in accounting, financial systems, finance transformation, audit, consulting, or process improvement.
