Job Description:
The Accounting Analyst reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor and works closely with team members across the accounting department. This role supports key daily accounting processes, including vendor credit card activity, accounts payable, freight rate entry, bank reconciliations, and other miscellaneous reconciliations. The Accounting Analyst also assists with month-end and quarter-end close activities, responds to internal and external inquiries, and contributes to process improvements within the department.
Responsibilities:
Process daily vendor credit card transactions and accurately apply payments to customer accounts. Support accounts payable activities, including processing invoices, preparing payments, and issuing vendor checks. Enter and maintain freight rates with accuracy and timeliness. Coordinate with carriers to support the release of fuel loads. Prepare and complete daily bank reconciliations. Assist with miscellaneous account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed. Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including documentation and follow-up items. Complete special projects and ad hoc assignments as requested. Assist territory managers with site-related accounting questions and issue resolution. Contribute to current and future departmental process improvements.
Qualifications :
Self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Ability to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines and reporting requirements. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, analytical skills, and follow-through. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Microsoft Excel Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typically 6-8 hours per day. Ability to lift and carry files, binders, and office materials up to 15 pounds as needed. Frequent use of hands and fingers for keyboarding, data entry, and handling documents. Visual acuity required to review detailed financial data, spreadsheets, and system reports. Occasional standing, walking, or reaching to access file cabinets, office equipment, or meeting spaces. Ability to participate in virtual and in‑person meetings, which may require clear verbal communication. Capacity to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
