Pay Range:
$45/hr - $48.27/hr (DOE) The Planet Group is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to act as the technical financial analysis expert for the department, reporting directly to the Department CFO. This role is responsible for applying financial and data analysis to support departmental performance, explaining complex financial information to leadership, and supporting capital, operating, and multi-year budgeting activities. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Information Technology 6+ years of progressive finance, accounting, or budgeting experience Master's degree in finance, Accounting, or Information Technology with relevant finance systems experience will be preferred Experienced user of Hyperion Essbase / Planning / Reports and EPIC Strong understanding of capital, operating, and multi-year budgets Solid knowledge of financial accounting and reporting Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to managers and senior leadership Ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines while working independently or in a team environment Proficiency in financial and accounting systems Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related data analysis tools Job Responsibilities Review and prepare month-end closing entries Perform and explain complex financial and variance analyses, including revenue variance analysis Explain financial documents and accounting analyses to department leadership Build and support annual capital and operating budgets, including multi-year budgets Prepare and present financial and budget presentations for senior leadership Meet routinely with department finance members to review monthly operational results Partner with CFOs, COOs, and other department leadership on strategic planning efforts Represent the CFO in meetings by presenting financial analysis when required Communicate clearly with internal departments such as Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Finance, and Capital Accounting Mentor financial analysts where applicable Perform duties in accordance with organizational values, policies, and procedures Complete other duties as assigned to support the department and organization
