Hybrid Remote Schedule This role has the option to be a blend of remote and onsite work if department and business needs allow and with approval from direct supervision. Our hybrid remote work schedule combines three (3) days on premises with up to two (2) days remote. Key Roles This position is responsible for proper management of daily cash processes including bank and investment account management, balance reconciliation, funding requirements, and electronic payments. In addition, this position analyzes daily cash flow, liquidity status, liquidity forecast, short-term investments, and collaborates with accounting to ensure efficient and accurate financial settlement process. Key Responsibilities Bank and Investment Account Management Establishes the corporate daily cash position for multiple EKPC bank accounts, monitors account balances, executes funds movement, and performs all short-term investing activities. Monitors bank accounts for fraudulent activity and reviews exceptions. Investigates and resolves exceptional activity noted by the bank, determining whether the bank should accept or reject each item for payment. Updates daily cash databases within the PeopleSoft Treasury Management System including all transactions and the reconciliation of receipts and disbursements to bank balances. Communicates with banks, financial institutions, and IT to resolve problems. Collaborates with budget and accounting on cash, investment, and banking inquiries as needed. Assists in the management of EKPC's bank account network including opening/closing accounts, implementing new bank products and services, and maintaining list of authorized signers and bank accounts for all entities. Implements and tests cash related functions during PeopleSoft upgrades. Cash and Investment Transactions Reviews, initiates, and processes corporate bank account transactions and bank wire/ACH requests. Responsible for functionality of the direct transmission banking system between EKPC, the corporate bank, and related real time banking transactions required to meet EKPC's cash flow requirements in accordance with IRS, RUS, and EKPC policies and procedures. Invests excess funds in investment instruments and with appropriate counterparties to remain in compliance with all EKPC financial policies, procedures, and guidelines. Evaluates interest rates, and handles scheduling and investing the purchases or redemptions of investments. Trains staff on banking transactions and related PeopleSoft modules. Reporting and Analysis Prepares daily cash reports and provides summary for senior management. Produces cash forecasting model to determine future liquidity needs. Prepares cash management month-end reports for management including tracking short-term investments, liquidity, reconciliations, and member power billing activity. Responsible for bank fee analysis and interpretation. Prepares Board/Committee informational items relating to Finance responsibilities. General Assists with internal and external audit procedures and requests. Analyzes Treasury Business Continuity Plan to ensure relevance and accuracy. Serves as backup for other Treasury functions, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements Education:
Bachelor¿s degree in a related area preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute. Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years of related experience. Cash management and banking systems experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of transactional banking processes and related platforms and interfaces. Experience with PeopleSoft Treasury Management System. Understanding of US banking system and investment instruments. Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
