Job Description
Eaton's Distributed IT (DIT) division is currently seeking a Commercial Financial Analyst to join our team in Woodridge, IL. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days on-site and two days remote each week. The Financial Analyst supports the Global Distributed IT (DIT) commercial finance team as a versatile contributor across revenue planning, margin analysis, forecasting, and profitability reporting. This role partners closely with Sales, Product, Supply Chain, and Operations to bring financial discipline to commercial decisions and help the business execute against its plan. It is an ideal opportunity for a well-rounded early-career finance professional ready to broaden their scope, work across multiple workstreams, and grow within a high-visibility division. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you'll do:
- Support monthly sales and orders reporting versus plan and forecast, including variance analysis and clear narratives for leadership review.
- Assist in margin analysis (standard margin and return on sales) and backlog execution tracking, partnering with commercial teams to explain drivers and identify risks.
- Contribute to the annual profit plan, quarterly forecasts, and rolling outlooks, including data collection, model updates, and consolidation.
- Support distributor buy-in analysis, rebate accruals, and channel program tracking with key partners.
- Help evaluate pricing actions, deal economics, and promotional programs, providing clean analysis that informs commercial decisions.
- Prepare recurring dashboards and executive ready summaries, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data.
- Partner cross functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and Sales to gather inputs, resolve questions, and drive process improvements.
- Support internal controls, month end close activities, and ad hoc requests from finance leadership. ## This role could be the next step in your career if you demonstrate the following experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or commercial analytics. ## We will not consider candidates who:

- Prior FP&A, commercial finance, or manufacturing and distribution industry experience.
- Comfort working across multiple workstreams simultaneously and shifting priorities as the business demands.
- Strong Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI, Oracle or SAP, and Hyperion or Essbase considered a plus.
- Ability to translate financial concepts for non finance audiences and present findings clearly.
- Curious, coachable, and self directed, comfortable asking questions, taking ownership, and following through without heavy supervision.
- Strong attention to detail balanced with the ability to see the bigger picture.
