Job Description
Description Our professional services client in San Ramon is seeking an interim Sr. Financial Analyst for a 6-month engagement (possible contract-to-hire) This position supports regional and cross-functional financial planning, reporting, and forecasting activities while helping leaders make informed business decisions through clear analysis and reliable data. The role is well suited for a finance specialist who combines strong modeling skills with experience improving reporting processes, strengthening governance alignment, and turning complex financial information into practical insights. The role is expected to pay $47.50 - 53.00/hr. DOE and location, and is 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and integration of financial and operational data across regions and business functions to support consistent reporting and planning
- Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports for business partners and operational leadership, with emphasis on profitability, variances, trends, and resource utilization
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify performance patterns, explain anomalies, and provide recommendations that support operational and financial decisions
- Partner with finance, accounting, data governance, and regional stakeholders to maintain reporting accuracy and alignment with enterprise standards
- Drive process enhancements by introducing automation, streamlining reporting workflows, and improving the speed and reliability of recurring deliverables
- Support quarterly forecast consolidation by working with regional leaders and finance partners to gather inputs that reflect current business conditions
- Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, determine root causes, and communicate findings to key stakeholders
- Contribute to scenario modeling and prepare decision-support datasets for senior finance leaders and business partners
- Assist with the evaluation and refinement of forecasting and reporting tools to improve scalability, usability, and efficiency
- Provide guidance to team analysts on reporting practices, data validation techniques, and analytical approaches Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in corporate FP& A, finance, or accounting roles
- Background supporting budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across regional or multi-regional business environments
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, including ad hoc analysis, margin analysis, and flux analysis
- Advanced Excel skills, including data modeling, scenario analysis, and working with large datasets
- Experience with financial systems, reporting platforms, and data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Prior experience in a public company or Fortune 500 environment is strongly preferred
