September 9, 2026 / ASAP Potential Contract-to-Hire Opportunity About the Role We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Grant & Financial Coordinator to support our client in the academic sector. This position will provide grant administration, financial coordination, and operational support within a School of Public Health. The ideal candidate will have previous grant administration experience or a strong background in finance, accounting, or high-volume financial transaction processing. Key Responsibilities Coordinate pre-award activities and assist faculty, postdoctoral researchers, students, and staff with grant proposal preparation. Maintain current faculty support documents and biosketches. Coordinate Just-In-Time (JIT) requests and related documentation. Set up and maintain grant and contract files. Support awarded grants and contracts while ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and funding requirements. Manage and monitor the invoice inbox. Review a high volume of financial transactions for accuracy and completeness. Confirm that expenses and transactions comply with grant requirements. Process journal entries, change orders, purchase requisitions, and other financial actions in Workday . Communicate with internal stakeholders and provide responsive customer service. Proofread and edit grant-related and financial documentation as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Previous grant administration experience or a strong financial background. Experience reviewing financial transactions, invoices, expenses, or related documentation. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace. Ability to work onsite in Providence, Rhode Island, during the initial stage of the assignment. Preferred Qualifications Experience administering federal or non-federal grants. Experience working in an academic, research, healthcare, or nonprofit environment. Experience with Workday or other financial management software. Proofreading and editing experience. Contract and Interview Details The initial assignment is expected to last approximately 3 to 4 months . The selected contractor may have an opportunity to apply for a permanent full-time position if one becomes available. Permanent employment is not guaranteed. The interview process consists of one virtual interview via Zoom with two hiring managers. Education verification is required as part of the background check process.
