Job Description
Overall Job Summary
The finance team at Tractor Supply Company is a strategic partner of the executive and functional leadership teams. We influence decisions and strategy through data with the goal of benefiting our customers and shareholders. The Sr. Financial Analyst will develop models and reporting mechanisms that provide financial insights to executive and finance leadership as well as support budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A consolidations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Provide analytical support to leadership across various functions, including Finance, Merchandising, and Marketing, by analyzing business performance, identifying key drivers, and developing actionable recommendations.
Evaluate the financial performance and impact of promotions, marketing events, seasonal initiatives, and other merchandising programs. This may include analysis of sales lift, profitability, return on investment, and performance across stores, geographies, and merchandise categories.
Prepare, maintain, and communicate recurring sales, gross margin, and financial forecasts; analyze actual results versus forecast and budget; and identify risks, opportunities, and key drivers of performance.
Perform complex research and analysis of sales trends, customer behavior, category performance, and external business drivers, including economic conditions, weather, and market trends, to quantify potential impacts and inform forecasts and business decisions.
Prepare and present period-end analyses and reporting on key business initiatives, such as Big Ticket, Private Label, Inventory Valuation, and Direct Imports.
Conduct and present special financial and statistical studies as directed in coordination with other departments.
Support the annual strategic planning and budgeting process by developing and validating key assumptions and coordinating with business partners to ensure financial plans accurately reflect business expectations
