Job Description

We've partnered with an institutional oil & gas fund to find their next Asset Manager as they grow their origination team.

This fund is deploying serious institutional capital into mineral and royalty interests across the country's major producing basins, and doing it with an edge nobody else in this space has: a proprietary database that prices every target interest before the first conversation even happens. No guesswork, no weeks of chasing numbers. You walk in with a real, dollar-specific offer and a thesis the fund has already built.

If you've got the financial fluency to talk valuation and the drive to build real relationships, this is buyside origination with genuinely uncapped upside. What you'll do Reach out directly to mineral and royalty owners identified by the fund's proprietary database Walk owners through what their interest is worth and why — explaining concepts like time value of money and discounted cash flow in plain terms Present a formal offer and guide the owner through signing a Purchase & Sale Agreement (PSA) Hand the deal off to the fund's operations team for title, closing, and payment, your role ends at signature What the fund provides Pre-valued targets — no guesswork on pricing Full origination stack:
CRM, PSA
generation, e-signature, training, and objection-handling frameworks A full back office for everything after the PSA is signed Hands-on training on the oil & gas and mineral rights side — no prior industry experience required. The fund's proprietary database handles pricing, owner data, and underwriting; you bring the financial fluency and the owner conversation Who does well here Backgrounds in investment banking, private equity, wealth management, or equity research who can speak fluently about valuation and financial concepts High-volume, relationship-driven originators from mortgage, insurance, commercial real estate, or energy finance People comfortable with a longer deal cycle — this moves at an M&A pace, not high-volume outreach, with a handful of large transactions closing per month Compensation 1099, fully variable, uncapped — origination fee on every closed transaction, with an accelerator on your first several deals. No ceiling on what a strong originator can earn. $400K+ target earning Requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially explaining financial concepts to non-experts Comfortable with fully variable, no-base compensation Prior experience in finance, high-ticket transactions, or a deal-driven field preferred
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year
