BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Budget Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst supports the Finance Department with accounting, budgeting, auditing and other financial responsibilities. The position is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, projecting on major City revenue sources to support the annual budget process, long range financial planning, and assisting with strategic decision-making. Other duties include developing revenue forecasts, monitoring economic indicators, evaluates legislative impacts, performs financial monitoring and prepares presentations and reports for executive leadership.

Certified Public Accountant Certificate (CPA) and/or Certified Professional Finance Officer (CPFO) desired.

Exerting over 100 lbs. occasionally; 50-100 lbs. frequently; or up to 20-50 lbs. constantly. # Code Essential Functions 1 S Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. 2 S Develop, monitor, and maintain short- and long-term revenue forecasts for all City funds by analyzing historical trends, economic conditions, legislative changes, and operational data. Evaluate variances between budgeted and actual revenues and recommend adjustments to improve forecasting accuracy. 3 S Support the annual budget process by preparing revenue estimates, financial models, and long-range projections. Analyze the fiscal impact of proposed initiatives, policy changes, and capital projects to support strategic financial planning and sustainable budget development. 4 S Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations that communicate revenue performance, trends, risks, and opportunities to executive management, department leadership, and elected officials. Develop meaningful performance metrics and recommend corrective actions when necessary. 5 S Collaborate with City departments, external agencies, consultants, and governmental organizations to collect financial information, validate revenue assumptions, evaluate funding opportunities, and provide technical guidance related to revenue forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning. 6 S Provide backup for a wide array of payroll-related functions, including the processing of payroll, posting payroll entries, processing and reconciling benefit payments and reports, and managing time and attendance. 7 S Assists in preparing financial statements and related schedules for various funds, maintaining Capital Assets for assigned funds, reconciling accounts and ensuring the integrity of the data in funds assigned. 8 S Administers financial and/or budget software systems and writes and deploys finance reports from a database.
JOB CLASSIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
-Description of Minimum Job Requirements- Experience-Related Requirements Over four years and up to and including eight years. Vocational/ Educational Preparation Requires Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences.
