Job Description
The YMCA of the Fox Cities is hiring a full-time accountant for our growing finance team. As an accountant in the largest YMCA association in the state, you'll see firsthand how much you and the Y can make an impact on our community. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial information and supporting a variety of accounting functions. You will use strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a collaborative mindset to support data-driven decision-making and our organization's financial wellbeing.
Job Duties:
Reconcile assigned accounts. Complete journal entries. Support preparation of monthly financial statements. Assist with managing accounting software systems to ensure data integrity. Contribute to yearly audit preparation and budget preparation. May have the opportunity to specialize or complete projects in one or more areas of finance: general ledger, fixed assets, contributions, receivables, etc. Be a resource to YMCA staff on financial matters including budgeting, reporting, researching variances and best practices. Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred. Experience in GAAP and non-profit fund accounting is desired. Three years or more of progressive work experience in accounting. Strong attention to detail, organization, and meeting deadlines. Experience and interest in problem-solving and taking initiative. Clear and approachable communication skills across phone, email and chat. Experience in building positive and productive working relationships with other staff.
