We deliver a comprehensive child and family development program tailored for women receiving prenatal care, children from birth to five years old, and their families, fostering growth and stability in our communities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Non-Federal Match (NFM) Specialist to join our financial team. In this vital role, you will manage the coordination and documentation of non-federal matching funds, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and internal policies. Your expertise will support accurate financial reporting, risk management, and adherence to regulatory standards, contributing to the overall success of our programs.
Duties:
Oversee the collection, verification, and documentation of non-federal matching funds in accordance with federal guidelines and organizational policies Collaborate with program teams to ensure timely reporting of match contributions and related financial data Prepare detailed financial reports related to non-federal match activities, ensuring accuracy and transparency Monitor compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) frameworks, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards Conduct internal audits and risk assessments related to match funding processes to identify areas for improvement Maintain comprehensive records of all match transactions, supporting documentation, and audit trails Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and ensure alignment with governmental accounting standards
Skills:
Strong understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance, Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) frameworks, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and governmental accounting principles Proven experience in financial report writing and analysis within a nonprofit or government-funded environment Knowledge of tax regulations, regulatory reporting, and internal audit procedures Proficiency with accounting software, financial management tools, and general ledger accounting systems Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately Familiarity with risk management practices within financial operations Background in public accounting or financial services is a plus Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating across teams Join us at Heartland Head Start as a Non-Federal Match Specialist where your expertise will directly impact our mission to support children's development and strengthen families.
