Job Summary - Why you'll love this position Missouri Division of Finance Job Opportunity Assistant Mortgage Examiner Jefferson City, Missouri Starting salary: $60,025.20 Closing date: August 14, 2026 The Division of Finance is responsible for the chartering, licensing, and oversight of financial institutions in the State of Missouri. This is an entry level position that offers growth and development through a structured career path with defined benchmarks and salary progression. Responsibilities - What you'll do
Responsibilities:
Participate in the examination of residential mortgage broker and lending companies and mortgage loan originators to determine compliance with state licensing laws. Submit written reports detailing findings of examinations/investigations. Resolve consumer and industry inquiries regarding licensing and regulation in a professional and timely manner. Assist in the review of license applications to determine if qualifications and standards are met. Assist with license appeal hearings, including the preparation of exhibits and testimony. Considerable travel required. Qualifications - All you need for success
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to gain knowledge of operations of mortgage brokers, lenders, loan originators and related state and federal mortgage laws and regulations. Ability to deal effectively with mortgage companies and originators regarding licensing issues, noncompliance, and examination procedures and results. Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with consumers who inquire or complain about mortgage companies or originators. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Division employees, industry partners, and the public. Ability to prepare concise written reports. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Must possess a valid driver's license.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in business or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. A background or education in finance and/or accounting is beneficial but not required.
