Job Summary - Why you'll love this position Missouri Division of Finance Job Opportunity Assistant Co nsumer Credit Examiner Jefferson City, Missouri Starting salary: $60,025.20 Closing date: August 14, 2026 The Division of Finance is responsible for the chartering, licensing, and oversight of financial institutions in the State of Missouri. This is an entry level position that offers growth and development through a structured career path with defined benchmarks and salary progression. Most work will be completed at the Division Office located in Jefferson City. Some work will take place at field locations throughout the state which will require overnight travel. Remote work opportunities may emerge upon successful completion of training. Responsibilities - What you'll do
Responsibilities:
Assist in the examination of financial institutions, installment loan departments of banks, and related consumer credit companies to determine compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Ensure fees and interest rate charges are appropriate, and that all notices and disclosures have been made to the consumer. Conduct exit interviews with company officials to advise them of examination findings and recommend corrective action. Prepare and submit consumer credit examination reports to the Division office. Conduct field investigations to collect information concerning consumer complaints. Considerable overnight travel required. Perform other related work as assigned. Qualifications - All you need for success
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of consumer credit company operations, general accounting, and financial analysis. Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access. Ability to adapt to a flexible work environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and prepare concise written reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Division employees, industry partners, and the public. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Must possess a valid driver's license.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in business or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. A background or education in finance and/or accounting is beneficial but not required.
