full-time A growing privately held company is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager/Controller to oversee accounting operations, lead a small team, and support executive leadership with accurate financial reporting and business insights. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, billing, and reconciliations Own the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial statements Manage accounting activities across multiple entities Oversee project/job costing processes and maintain accurate financial data within a project-based environment Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts Develop and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability and accuracy Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making Qualifications Strong accounting leadership experience in a project-based, job costing, manufacturing, construction, distribution, logistics, or similar operational environment Proven experience leading month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Multi-entity accounting experience required Strong technical accounting skills with expertise in general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting Prior experience supervising and developing accounting staff Experience with contract setup, project accounting systems, or ERP platforms is a plus Financial statement preparation and analysis experience preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered CPA is a plus
