This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our accounting operations. Reporting to the Finance leadership team, the Accounting Manager will oversee Accounts Payable processes while serving as a key contributor to month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll review, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with operations, project teams, HR, and finance personnel across the organization to support a fast-paced, project-based construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Leadership- Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and process discipline.
- Supervise and mentor Accounts Payable personnel and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve internal controls. Accounts Payable Oversight
- Oversee invoice processing and vendor payment activities across multiple operating companies.
- Ensure timely and accurate coding of expenses.
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve escalated issues.
- Support month-end accrual processes and expense cutoffs. Month-End Close & Reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
- Assist with monthly close procedures and journal entries.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation. Payroll Review
- Review payroll submissions for accuracy and completeness.
- Partner with HR and operations teams to resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Support compliance with wage and labor regulations. Financial Controls & Compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to company policies.
- Assist with audits and information requests.
- Support compliance requirements and scalable processes. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Construction or multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel and ERP system knowledge.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
