full-time A growing, privately held real estate development and homebuilding company is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Irvine-based finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment and wants exposure to a broad range of accounting, financial reporting, and business initiatives. The company is actively developing residential communities across California and continues to expand its development pipeline. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Controller and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, strengthening accounting processes, and supporting the company's continued growth. What You'll Do Prepare and coordinate quarterly and annual financial reporting, including supporting schedules and disclosures Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable accounting standards Support the annual audit and work directly with external auditors Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses Support accounting related to revenue recognition, leases, capitalization, impairments, and debt/equity transactions Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Partner with operational and cross-functional teams to identify financial risks and opportunities Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and greater efficiency Support transaction-related and business development accounting activities Perform technical accounting research and assist with special projects Serve as a key accounting resource within a growing finance organization What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience At least 2 years of leadership-level or equivalent experience Real estate, construction, homebuilding, or development experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of
U.S. GAAP
Advanced Excel skills Experience working with ERP/accounting systems Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Preferred:
