Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead and optimize accounting operations with a particular focus on Accounts Payable. This is a hands-on role that demands strong technical expertise, operational efficiency, and leadership skills to manage financial activities in a dynamic, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a multi-entity, multi-currency setting and be committed to driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with financial standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations with a focus on overseeing Accounts Payable and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes related to Accounts Payable and accruals.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses to support financial reporting.
- Implement process improvements and lead automation initiatives to enhance AP workflows and overall accounting operations.
- Design and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial processes and prevent risks such as duplicate payments or fraud.
- Supervise full-cycle Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, payment runs, and vendor management.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to AP aging, discrepancies, and vendor disputes while maintaining compliance with established policies.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ongoing development.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize financial systems and operational workflows.
- Support audits by preparing necessary schedules and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to Accounts Payable and financial close processes.
- Proven experience managing teams and developing staff in an accounting or financial setting.
- Familiarity with high-volume, multi-entity, and multi-currency environments.
- Expertise in accounting software systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance in AP operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
