Job Description

Ready to step into an accounting leadership role where you can actually make an impact?

A growing North County organization is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to take ownership of its accounting operations and partner closely with senior leadership. This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting professional who has moved beyond simply closing the books and is ready to have a real voice in how the accounting function operates.

This position combines hands-on accounting, financial reporting, process improvement, team leadership, and business partnership. You'll oversee the day-to-day accounting function while also looking for ways to make processes cleaner, reporting more useful, and the overall operation more efficient. The ideal candidate is someone who can roll up their sleeves when needed but also knows how to step back, identify a problem, and build a better process around it.

What you'll own:

Oversee the full-cycle accounting function, including GL, AP, AR, cash management, and reconciliations.

Manage and review the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.

Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.

Analyze balance sheet accounts and ensure account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.

Review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other month-end activity.

Monitor AP and AR aging and partner with internal teams to resolve outstanding items.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow analysis, and financial planning.

Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Identify opportunities to automate or streamline repetitive accounting processes.

Partner with operations and department leadership to explain financial results and trends.

Support annual audits, tax requests, and other external reporting requirements.

Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff.

Prepare ad hoc financial analysis for leadership and ownership.
