JOB DESCRIPTION CV
Resources, in partnership with our client, a growing technology company, seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to serve as the operational leader of the accounting function. Reporting to the Controller and CFO, this role will ensure timely and accurate financial while proactively identifying issues, driving accountability, and continuously improving accounting processes. The Accounting Manager will lead a team across AP, AR, payroll support, fixed assets, and general ledger activities, and will play a key role in owning the month-end close, strengthening controls, and partnering cross-functionally to support an efficient and accurate close.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
  • Own the monthly close from planning through completion, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial package preparation.
  • Improve close processes, controls, reconciliations, and reporting discipline to reduce cycle time and increase confidence in the financials.
  • Investigate financial anomalies before escalation, delivering root cause analysis, quantified impacts, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Drive cross-functional accountability with Operations, Service, Sales, HR, and Finance to ensure timely and accurate financial information. Accounting Operations
  • Lead the accounting team across AP, AR, payroll support, fixed assets, and general ledger activities. Audit & Compliance
  • Support audits, tax compliance, and internal controls while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP reporting requirements and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards. Miscellaneous
  • Accept all other duties as requested by upper management.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Required
  • At least eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two (2) years of leading an accounting team.
  • Big 4 or national/tier 2 public accounting background.
  • Current or prior employment in construction, manufacturing, distribution, security, field services, logistics, healthcare operations, or a similar operational business.
  • Experience with cost accounting, job costing, service operations, inventory, labor, and gross margin analysis.
  • Proven ownership of month-end close and financial reporting, with a demonstrated ability to improve processes, tighten controls, and accelerate the close.
Preferred CPA certification.
SKILLS OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Required Technical
  • Strong NetSuite or comparable ERP experience. Interpersonal
  • High EQ and high level of maturity; able to build structure from potentially messy situations.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, less structured environment where systems and processes continue to evolve.
  • Analytical curiosity and root-cause investigation skills, with strong judgment on materiality and accounting issues.
  • Ability to influence and hold other departments accountable; hands-on leadership with a bias toward execution. Preferred
  • ERP implementation and system integration experience.
