Job Description
As an
•Operational Accounting Consultant
•, you willprovide hands-on support to the accounting organization, with a primary focuson month-end close, account reconciliation,financial reporting, and process improvement. The consultant will helpensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial results whileproviding additional capacity to a team managing competing priorities. The ideal candidateis a seasoned accounting professional who canquickly step into an ambiguous environment, work independently, and make animmediate impact. This role requires strong technical accounting andanalytical capabilities, as well as the ability to partner effectively withcross-functional stakeholders, identify issues, and drive them throughresolution +
Month-EndClose:
Own andexecute key activities across the month-end close, including journalentries, accruals, adjustments, and close-related analyses, ensuringtimely and accurate reporting. +
Variance Analysis:
Analyze actuals against budget and forecast, identify key drivers of variances, and communicate findings and implications to relevant stakeholders. +
AccountReconciliations:
Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations,investigate variances and discrepancies, and drive timely resolution ofoutstanding items. +
FinancialReporting & Analysis:
Support the preparation and review of monthly financialresults and provide analysis to help explain business performance and keymovements. +
Year-EndClose & Audit Support:
Support year-end close activities, includingpreparation and review of year-end journal entries, accountreconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reportingdeliverables. Partner with internal and external audit teams by preparingrequested documentation, responding to inquiries, and helping resolveaudit items in a timely manner. +
Controls& Compliance:
Support the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls overfinancial reporting and ensure adherence to accounting policies andapplicable requirements. +
ProcessImprovement:
Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve accountingand close processes, with a focus on reducing manual effort and improvingefficiency and accuracy. +
Cross-FunctionalPartnership:
Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other business teams to obtainrequired information, resolve issues, and support the timely completion ofclose activities. + Ad Hoc /
Special Projects:
Provide accounting and financial analysis support on priority initiativesand other projects as needed.
+ Bachelor's degree inAccounting, Finance, or a related field. + 8-15 years of relevantexperience in operational accounting, corporate accounting, or a similarrole, with significant month-end close experience.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP,financial reporting, account reconciliations, and close processes.
+ Proven ability toindependently manage accounting deliverables and quickly ramp into a neworganization or ambiguous environment.
+ Experience with SAP, Oracle,or other enterprise ERP systems.
+ Advanced Excel skills,including working with and analyzing large data sets.
+ Proficiency with GoogleWorkspace, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools.
+ CPA preferred, but notrequired.
+ Strong analytical,problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
+ Excellent communication andstakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively acrossfunctions and levels.
+ Global company experiencerequired; high-tech industry experience strongly preferred.
