Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of a growing Law Firm. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing core accounting functions, improving financial processes, and supporting strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of accounts receivable, billing and collections, including prebills, revisions, invoicing, e-billing, write-offs and aging reports Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor maintenance, invoice processing, approvals, payments, and credit card administration. Maintain responsibility for trust accounting activities, while ensuring compliance and accuracy. Manage banking relationships, monitor cash flow and account balances, process wire transfers and deposits, and oversee partnership accounting activities. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's accounting and finance processes, including work performed by external accounting partners, to identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen controls. Partner with the external CPA firm to support month-end close activities, prepare operational financial reporting, and coordinate tax-related requirements. Establish, enhance, and document financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of five years of accounting experience within a law firm. Skills & Knowledge Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and experience with legal services time and billing systems. Demonstrated experience managing a full legal billing cycle, including electronic billing. Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, trust accounting and applicable trust accounting regulations. Proven ability to lead process improvements and technology implementations. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, judgment, discretion, and professionalism. Ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and collaborate with administrative and support staff. Preferred Attributes Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Ability to thrive in a hands-on environment while balancing strategic and operational responsibilities.
