Job Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions at SeaWorld and Sesame Place San Diego. Working with the Corporate Property Support Financial Team, the position will assist in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the park's accounting records/reports and their conformity with US GAAP. The position reports to the Vice President Finance and will routinely work with varying levels of management at the park.
What you get to do:
Responsible for the Finance areas of Accounting, Supply Chain, and Contracts. Prepare journal entries, review G/L account reconciliations, coordinate period-end accruals, performs operating expense reporting and analyses, etc. Reviews accounting reports and financial statements (e.g., for internal reporting purposes, tax reporting, etc.) for errors; works with corporate to correct. Oversees Park internal accounting controls and ensures procedures are SOX compliant. Generates financial reporting documents and develops ad hoc analyses for internal customers. Provides input and guidance for accounting questions as needed. Reviews products being built to ensure they are being coded to the correct general ledger accounts. Assists with approving contracts, DOA's, and purchase/service requisitions. Assists in the coordination of meeting various audit requests (internal and external audit, local tax audits, etc.) as needed. Budgets and tracks cost center costs and labor. Creates schedules, approves time off, and provides day-to-day guidance for direct reports. Special projects and other duties which may arise. Liaison between park leaders and the Finance team. Build and develop partnerships with department leaders. All duties include support at Sesame Place San Diego.
What it takes to succeed:
Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred in accounting, finance, or related business discipline (College degree required in Accounting or Finance discipline) (CPA preferred) Knowledge of ERP systems, 3+ years SAP knowledge required, S4 experience preferred Ability to quickly master proprietary systems applications software and report writers Ability to effectively perform in a multitask oriented environment to meet specific deadlines Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English Excellent interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Must be familiar with Microsoft Office tools and functionality; intermediate skill level in Excel required
Annual Compensation Range:
$75,000 - $85,000 annual
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
