Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $90,000 to $135,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial transaction processing. Manage month end and year end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Supervise and develop accounting staff while providing guidance, training, and performance support. Monitor customer and vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. Solid understanding of accrual accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and close processes. Previous experience leading or mentoring accounting personnel within a fast paced, high volume environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
Qualifications:
Prior experience within transportation, logistics, supply chain, freight, or other transaction intensive industries. Familiarity with Sage accounting software or similar enterprise financial systems. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and leadership levels.
