Round Hill Club, established in 1924, is a private, member-owned country club in Greenwich, Connecticut, and employs approximately 130 part- and full-time employees. It is recognized as one of the Northeast's most prestigious private clubs. The Club facilities include a historic Clubhouse with several Food and Beverage outlets and Banquet/Reception areas. Other amenities include an 18-hole golf course, pickleball, tennis, an indoor racquets facility, squash courts, a fitness center, and an outdoor swimming pool.Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is a finance role responsible for supporting the Club's financial integrity, reporting accuracy, and internal control environment. This position supports the Director of Finance through financial oversight and analytical support to leadership, ensuring that the financial processes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with Club standards. The Accounting Manager exercises independent judgment, applies accounting expertise, and supports management decision-making through accurate and timely reporting, analysis, and controls.Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Responsible for the day-to-day accounts receivable operations, including member billing, special event billing and applying payments. 2) Prepare and distribute monthly statements to club members and assist with member inquiries. 3) Prepare AR aging analysis and delinquent account correspondence for GM's review. 4) Provide support for accounts payable and human resources functions as necessary. 5) Oversee the month-end close journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. 6) Assist the director of finance in preparing monthly and annual financial statements, budgets, and variance analyses. 7) Support the director of finance with the annual audit preparation. 8) Assist the director of finance with annual budget preparation. 9) Support department heads to ensure compliance with Club's policies and procedures. 10) Assist the director of finance with special projects, including but not limited to annual surveys, inventory inspections, federal and state tax compliance, annual state filings, etc. 11) Assist in developing, implementing and documenting internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 12) Stay updated on evolving accounting standards and regulations to maintain compliance and implement best practices effectivelyPreferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Jonas Club Management Software or similar accounting platforms
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, private clubs or similar industries
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliation and budgeting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Exceptional work ethic that prioritizes reliability and trustworthiness
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines on a timely basis
