Avangrid Job Summary:
Responsible for management and development of analyses and business processes related to transmission revenue requirements, including FERC filings, journal entries, and transmission billing. In addition, this position requires the holder to formulate and assess various regulatory strategies that maintain or improve regulatory earnings that are consistent with existing State and federal regulatory policies and accounting principles. This position is critical to the financial health of the Corporation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides strategic guidance and formulates regulatory strategies to positively impact regulatory earnings. Prepares and defend annual transmission revenue requirement filings for Avangrid's transmission operations in ISO-NE. Populates settled formula rate template, responds to discovery requests, and assists in the resolution of challenges to said calculations. Liaises with internal and external stakeholders as needed regarding said filing. Prepares and records monthly journal entries related to transmission revenue requirements. Provides Senior Management assessments, analyses and recommendations regarding current and future financial impacts related to transmission revenue requirements. Oversee the transmission billing function for UI and CMP. Responsible for the timely and accurate production of customer bills, executing applicable agreements with new customers, and appraising Senior Management of key developments. Provides functional supervision and training for employees throughout many operating areas at the Company in the analyses, preparation, presentation and litigation of the transmission Revenue Requirement. Responsible for various other duties relevant to transmission revenue requirements, including responding to ad hoc FERC orders, supporting FERC filings necessary to facilitate recovery of transmission costs, submitting timely and accurate compliance filings, and providing budget guidance.
Required Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent decision making, project management, interpersonal and communications skills. High-level analytical skills and organizational skills. High-level financial accounting skills. Exceptional ability for critical thinking. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting or other related fields of study and at least 10 years of related work experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of OpCo business processes (preferred for internal). Background in FERC ratemaking. #LI-On-Site #LI-JM1
