Job Description

Accounting Manager Digital Visibility Concepts - 1.5 Gainesville, FL Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $85,000 a year 10 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Professional development assistance Qualifications Financial reporting Zoom Corporate tax return preparation English Partnership tax expertise Small business experience QuickBooks Online QuickBooks Cash management Enrolled Agent Full Job Description Be the #2 at a growing accounting firm. I've owned businesses for 38 years. My latest is Profit Solutions, a bookkeeping, accounting, and tax firm in downtown Gainesville, and I'm growing it by buying established practices from retiring owners across Florida and Georgia. I'm hiring one person in Gainesville to be my number two. Not a department. Not a team. One seat, next to the owner, running the accounting side as the firm gets bigger. Today that means owning the books and business returns for a portfolio of owner-operated clients - trucking companies, contractors, auto shops, medical practices - and sitting across from those owners to explain their numbers. As we close acquisitions, it means taking over the books of every firm we buy, running the quality standard for the people who do the production, and becoming the person our clients trust when I'm not in the room. If you've been the most competent person in a firm where nobody noticed, this is the seat where they notice. What you'll do Own the monthly books for a portfolio of small-business clients on QuickBooks Online. Close, reconcile everything, deliver clean financials on time. Prepare business and owner tax returns (S corps, partnerships, Schedule C) clean enough that our licensed tax professional signs them without sending them back. Run the day-to-day on our advisory clients: cleanups, debt schedules, 13-week cash flow, a monthly owner dashboard. Review work prepared by our production team against a checklist and hold the standard. Sit with clients, in person and on Zoom, and explain their numbers in plain English. If an owner asks why his bank account is down when he made a profit, you can answer without a script. Help review the books of practices we're evaluating for purchase. What I need from you 5 or more years running a complete set of small-business books, not one piece of a corporate close. QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, or able to pass it in your first 30 days. You have personally prepared and filed 1120-S and 1065 returns in the last two seasons. Enrolled Agent, or willing to sit for it. I pay for the exam and the study course. This is not a CPA-required job. You can tell a client or a boss that a number is wrong and why. Organized, deadline-driven, and honest about what you don't know. Full time in our office at 300 East University Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00. Not remote. Pay and growth $65,000 to $85,000 to start, depending on experience and whether you hold the EA. The seat grows with the firm. You will be the senior accounting person as we add practices, and compensation follows the responsibility. I'd rather promote the person who built it with me than hire over them. 10 days PTO year one plus paid holidays. EA exam, study course, ProAdvisor renewal, and continuing ed paid. Downtown parking. How this goes Apply with your resume and answer the screener questions - they matter more than the resume. Qualified applicants get a 15-minute phone call within three business days, then an in-person interview that includes 45 minutes hands-on in QuickBooks. I move fast and I tell you where you stand either way. Profit Solutions Pro, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. Offers depend on reference and background checks and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Prepared means you did the return, not assisted or entered data. Where are you on the Enrolled Agent exam? Tell me about a time you found a significant error in books someone else prepared.
