Duties Lead and manage the dealership accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll processing. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and other relevant regulations. Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and financial analysis to optimize financial health and operational efficiency. Prepare and review detailed financial reports, including monthly close processes, budget forecasts, cost analysis, and regulatory filings. Implement and maintain robust accounting systems and software to streamline operations and enhance data analysis capabilities using spreadsheets and Excel data analysis tools. Conduct internal controls audits, manage account reconciliations, and ensure compliance with governmental and non-profit accounting standards where applicable. Drive continuous process improvements in financial workflows, leveraging technical accounting knowledge to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Experience Proven experience managing accounting teams within a dealership environment with a strong understanding of automotive or corporate accounting practices. Extensive knowledge of SOX compliance, IFRS standards, GAAP regulations, and governmental or non-profit accounting frameworks. Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, forecasting, and financial management. Proficiency with accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms; advanced Excel skills including data analysis are highly desirable. Strong background in cash management, treasury operations, regulatory compliance accounting, cost accounting analysis, accounts payable/receivable processing, and general ledger management. Experience managing finance teams with a focus on technical accounting concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, payroll processing, budgeting, and financial close processing. Ability to interpret complex financial concepts clearly for diverse audiences while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Prior experience working within public accounting or regulated environments is advantageous for success in this role.
