The person in this role will guide teams responsible for insurance verification, authorizations, referrals, and intake while helping create efficient, compliant workflows that support long-term financial performance.
Responsibilities:

Manage and develop supervisory staff, including leadership support for financial counseling functions, with a focus on accountability, coaching, and performance improvement. Evaluate existing procedures and implement workflow enhancements that increase productivity, reduce denials, and improve the patient financial experience. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve complex payer, coverage, and regulatory questions involving Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans. Support revenue cycle initiatives by using reporting, payer tools, and practice management or EMR systems to identify trends and improve operational outcomes. At least 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, patient access, financial counseling, medical billing, or a closely related function. Prior leadership experience managing teams in a healthcare financial operations setting, including responsibility for supervision and staff development. Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance coverage rules, eligibility requirements, and reimbursement processes. Ability to handle complex authorization, payer, and regulatory issues with sound judgment and a solutions-focused approach. Experience working with EMR or practice management platforms and payer portals used in healthcare revenue cycle operations. Behavioral health industry experience is preferred.
