Job Description

Port Charlotte Global Methodist Church is a vibrant 400 member church, committed to helping people Know Jesus, Grow more like Jesus, and Go serve Jesus. We believe that Jesus makes a difference in our lives and that the church should make a difference in its community. The Financial Administrator has the responsibility of maintaining and safeguarding the business integrity of the church and the church school. The Financial Administrator ensures that financial records are updated in a timely and accurate manner following the church's financial policies and procedures. Financial records include donor records, cash disbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reports, budgets, and donor restricted fund records. The Financial Administrator also assists with preparation of the churches and school's annual budgets and annual financial audit. The Financial Administrator works with confidential information and must respect privacy.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or closely related field or relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping concepts (both fund and cash-based accounting).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge and competence in computer-based bookkeeping.
  • Attention to detail.
