Learn more at www.residentinterface.com About the role We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our growing accounting team at our corporate headquarters in Tampa, Florida. Reporting to the Accounting Director, this is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of the company's accounting and financial reporting activities. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger management, financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting, account reconciliations, and audit support. This individual will work closely with the Accounting Director and other business leaders to provide accurate financial information and analysis that supports business decisions. As the organization continues to grow, this position is also expected to take on increasing leadership responsibilities and help support the development of a high-performing accounting team. What you'll do Manage and actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion. Maintain the general ledger, including preparation, review, and posting of journal entries. Prepare and review balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports for management. Perform and review reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, as appropriate. Monitor general ledger activity and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Assist with annual budget preparation, forecasting, and ongoing financial analysis. Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts and provide explanations for significant variances. Analyze financial trends, costs, revenues, commitments, and other financial information to support forecasting and business decisions. Support the Accounting Director in coordinating and preparing for annual audits and other external financial reviews. Work with external CPA firms on tax trial balances, supporting schedules, reviewed financial statements, and other accounting matters. Assist with the development, documentation, implementation, and ongoing improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Partner with department leaders to understand accounting and financial information needs and provide analytical support as needed. Provide hands-on support to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and other accounting functions as necessary. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and system utilization. Maintain open communication with the Accounting Director, accounting team, and business leaders regarding accounting activities, deadlines, and significant issues. Support the development of the accounting function as the organization grows, with the opportunity to assume direct team leadership responsibilities in the future. Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with flexibility to support critical close, audit, and reporting periods as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. CPA designation highly preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including both corporate and public accounting experience. Strong knowledge and practical application of GAAP, accounting principles, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and internal controls. Demonstrated experience managing and executing month-end and year-end close activities. Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and account reconciliations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels. High degree of professionalism, judgment, accountability, and emotional intelligence. Strong work ethic and willingness to provide hands-on support across accounting functions when needed. Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred, with the ability and interest to build and lead a high-performing accounting team as the function grows. Must be able to work 100% onsite at our Tampa, Florida corporate headquarters. Software Experience NetSuite experience required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including experience working with complex spreadsheets, financial models, formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with accounting system integrations and general ledger interfaces is a plus. Experience with financial reporting and data analysis tools is preferred.
