Job Description

Position Overview The Cost Accountant Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity of general ledger subsystems and manufacturing data, while leading a team of 2-3 accountants or analysts. This role contributes to financial planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and profit margin analysis for financial reporting and decision-making. Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain and update the standard cost system for manufactured products.
  • Assist in overseeing manufacturing work order processes.
  • Conduct reviews, corrections, and reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly gross profit reports and assist in providing strategic insights.
  • Develop metrics for analyzing operating results.
  • Maintain G/L accounts for inventory across multiple plants, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in forecasting variance reserves and managing expenses, including variance analysis.
  • Support the coordination of general ledger data throughout the financial system.
  • Assist in preparing journal entries, schedules, and reports for financial analysis.
  • Help develop forecasting models for gross profit and operational efficiency.
  • Support audit preparations and the annual budget process.
  • Participate in inter-company inventory management and reconciliation.
  • Assist in managing manufacturing transactions for off-site facilities and contribute to financial insights.
  • Support periodic physical inventory audits and reconciliations.
  • Participate in special projects as needed, providing support to financial initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing backlog reports and financial analyses for management.
  • Help calculate and analyze the impact of monthly sales incentive payments on profitability. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting or a related field.
  • Proficiency with PC operations, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing and standard cost accounting.
