Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on In-House CPA to oversee accounting and financial operations for our growing multi-location restaurant group. This position requires someone who is comfortable both overseeing the accounting function and working directly with the underlying books and records. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks experience, a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience managing accounting for multiple business entities or locations. This is not solely a review or advisory position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the accounting function, identify and resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate financial records, and work closely with company ownership and our accounting staff. Bilingual English/Mandarin Chinese proficiency is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Oversee accounting and financial reporting for multiple restaurant locations and business entities Maintain and review accounting records in QuickBooks Oversee monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Review general ledger activity and ensure transactions are properly recorded and categorized Manage month-end and year-end closing processes Prepare and review financial statements, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets Review accounts payable and accounts receivable Review journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations Oversee payroll accounting and coordinate payroll-related matters Monitor cash flow and banking activity across multiple entities Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Oversee sales tax, payroll tax, and other recurring accounting and compliance requirements Coordinate with outside tax professionals, payroll providers, banks, and other financial partners as needed Review accounting work completed by other accounting team members Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner Develop and maintain appropriate accounting procedures and internal controls Provide financial information and analysis to company ownership to support business decisions Assist with tax preparation, year-end reporting, audits, and other accounting matters as needed Qualifications Active CPA license required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred Strong hands-on QuickBooks experience required Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, debits and credits, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Experience with multi-entity or multi-location accounting strongly preferred Restaurant, hospitality, retail, franchise, or other multi-unit accounting experience is a plus Strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience with payroll accounting and tax-related reporting Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify accounting discrepancies Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting responsibilities Experience supervising or reviewing the work of accounting staff is preferred Bilingual English/Mandarin Chinese proficiency strongly preferred What We're Looking For We are looking for a CPA who is hands-on, practical, organized, and comfortable working directly in QuickBooks . This position is well suited for someone who can combine CPA-level accounting knowledge with the day-to-day accounting needs of an operating business. The successful candidate should be comfortable working directly with company ownership and managing accounting across a growing group of restaurant locations.
