Job Description
Eaton's Energy Transition division is currently seeking a Finance Manager to serve as a strategic finance business partner for our organization. This remote can be based anywhere in the US with a preference for candidates near Pittsburgh PA. The Finance Manager supports growth initiatives across electrification, energy storage, distributed energy resources, EV charging infrastructure, and other core product lines. This role partners closely with business leadership to drive financial performance, support strategic investments, provide commercial decision support, and establish financial processes for a rapidly growing and evolving business. Given the growth-oriented nature of the Energy Transition business, this role requires a leader who thrives in ambiguity, embraces change, and proactively develops financial processes, governance, and operating rhythms where established frameworks may not yet exist. Success requires strong business partnership, influence, and the ability to drive alignment across a complex, cross-functional organization. Energy Transition is a business unit that combines Eaton's core electrical distribution, circuit protection, controls, services, and system-integration capabilities with external technology partners that expand speed-to-market and solution breadth. The Finance Manager plays a key role in helping leadership evaluate the commercial, financial, and operational implications of these partnership models.
- Support external technology and commercial partnerships, including partner-enabled offers in EV charging infrastructure, smart panels, energy management, and others.
- Assist in evaluating joint roadmaps, channel strategies, pricing structures, commercial terms, product launches, and system-level value creation.
- Provide financial analysis for partnership economics, including revenue, margin performance, pull-through value, channel incentives, customer bids, warranty or service implications, freight and logistics treatment, and investment scenarios.
- Help leadership assess when Eaton should build organically, partner externally, integrate with existing Eaton businesses, or pursue hybrid business models to accelerate growth while protecting enterprise profitability.
- Lead annual planning, forecasting, monthly financial reviews, and executive reporting for the Energy Transition business.
- Consolidate and analyze financial results across multiple businesses, product lines, regions, and any future growth initiatives to support leadership decision-making.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leadership, providing financial insight and recommendations on strategic priorities, investments, resource allocation, and organizational growth.
- Partner with sales, engineering, product management, operations, and program management teams to evaluate business opportunities, profitability, pricing strategies, and overall business performance.
- Develop financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support new products, partnerships, and growth initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, providing financial guidance and insights to support partnerships, joint initiatives, and long-term business growth.
- Help define financial processes, reporting structures, governance models, and operating rhythms for new businesses and initiatives where established frameworks may not yet exist.
- Develop concise executive materials that connect financial performance, partnership progress, strategic priorities, risks, and action plans for senior leadership discussions
- Operate effectively in a highly ambiguous environment, balancing short-term business needs with long-term strategic objectives while influencing decisions across a matrixed organization.
- Coordinate with global finance teams to establish consistent reporting, planning, and performance measurement processes across regions.
- Ensure compliance with Eaton financial policies, controls, and reporting requirements while driving continuous process improvement.
