Job Title:
Accounting Manager Job Description Provide day-to-day financial operations support ensuring that assets are adequately safeguarded, properly valued, and effectively used in the business enterprise. Responsibilities Ensure plant level internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively. Oversee the integrity, accuracy, and timely submission of all financial transactions originated at the production site. Ensure accuracy and appropriate valuation of all inventory related to the production site. Act as the primary JDE liaison at the production site. Develop monthly flash reports, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets in conjunction with the Regional Controller. Assist General Manager with cost control initiatives and ensure accurate and timely transactional reporting. Monitor capital spending program and ensure compliance with corporate policies, including approvals and spending. Coordinate cycle counts on inventory assets in collaboration with maintenance and warehouse departments. Administrate material master including BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Warehouse Masters, and Item Masters. Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, including monthly OpCo reports, inventory sub-ledgers, inventory SOX controls, inventory movements, and flash reports. Load data into Hyperion Planning and HFM. Utilize the DAS report writer tool to extract data from JDE and create scheduled DAS reports for all users. Participate in the SPI process by providing pertinent inventory and production data. Monitor and maintain cost information at the plant and cost center level, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Serve as the DSI liaison between plant users and Corporate/DSI consultants, maintaining DSI applications and requesting changes as needed. Lead Longview integration and support at the plant. Sign off on quarterly certifications of financial accuracy of plant reporting. Follow all food safety procedures and practices to promote a food safety culture. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline. Minimum of three years of experience in accounting/financial management. Proficiency in cost accounting and general accounting practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory management through an ERP system. Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) principles and reporting. Strong computational skills in Microsoft Excel. Work Environment The role is based in a food gelatin manufacturing plant with a total of 100 employees, including 50 union and 50 office staff.
