Accounting Manager About Artisan Labs Artisan Labs is a specialty cosmetic formulator and manufacturer located in the heart of scenic Magic Valley in Twin Falls County, Idaho. Position Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading Artisan Labs' day-to-day accounting function, including financial reporting, cost accounting, cash management, payroll administration, and financial documentation. This hands-on role ensures leadership has accurate, timely financial information while maintaining efficient and reliable accounting processes. The Accounting Manager serves as a key financial partner to company leadership and department leaders, translating financial and operational data into clear insights that support sound decision-making and profitable growth. This position reports to the CEO. Key Responsibilities Accounting and Financial Management Lead the monthly close process and support quarterly and annual close activities. Maintain accurate financial records and support adherence to accounting policies and internal controls. Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis. Cost Accounting and Operational Finance Maintain product costing, including material, labor, overhead, and manufacturing costs. Analyze gross margin, labor performance, purchase price variance, scrap, rework, inventory, and other key cost drivers. Support inventory valuation and reconciliation. Identify financial variances, margin issues, and cost improvement opportunities for leadership review. Prepare financial analyses and models to support leadership decision-making. Payroll and Documentation Manage payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll and personnel records. Maintain required employee documentation and confidential records. Process Improvement and Business Partnership Use AI tools to automate accounting, reporting, payroll, and administrative workflows. Design, build, and manage AI agents that improve data collection, analysis, reporting, and recurring accounting processes. Ensure AI-enabled processes include appropriate review, data protection, accuracy checks, and internal controls. Provide leadership with clear financial insights, risks, trends, and recommended actions. Work with department leaders to resolve financial discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or CMA preferred. Five or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including ownership of financial close and reporting. Experience using AI tools, workflow automation, or AI agents to improve accounting and business processes preferred. Ability to learn and implement new technologies while maintaining data accuracy, confidentiality, and appropriate financial controls. Experience leading an accounting function, supervising accounting work, or serving as the primary accounting resource for an organization preferred. Manufacturing and cost accounting experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory accounting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Strong Excel and financial systems skills. Payroll administration experience preferred. High accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organization, ownership, and follow-through. Ability to investigate discrepancies and drive issues to resolution. Ability to establish reliable processes and hold others accountable for accurate, timely financial information. Effective communication with financial and non-financial leaders. High level of integrity and discretion.
