Job Description

Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, cash management, fixed assets, and general ledger activity. Review monthly financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness. Evaluate financial reporting processes and recommend operational improvements. Participate in annual operating and capital budget processes. Coordinate general ledger interfaces to ensure proper posting and reporting. Lead month-end and year-end close validation. Prepare tax filings or required reporting for assigned entities (including franchise and personal property renditions). Coordinate and support annual external audits, including preparation of workpapers and auditor requests. Oversee fixed asset accounting and annual physical inventory. Support capital project accounting and property/equipment tracking throughout the year. Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting systems and procedures. Provide financial reporting and analysis support to executive leadership. Respond to departmental financial inquiries and provide budget-related guidance. Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Leadership Responsibilities Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants. Organize workflow and manage daily priorities across multiple functional areas. Select, train, evaluate, and provide ongoing coaching to team members. Foster a collaborative, professional, and accountable work environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Supervisory experience in an accounting environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Advanced reconciliation experience. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365 applications (PowerPoint included). Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working within complex financial systems. Preferred Qualifications CPA certification (preferred). Healthcare accounting experience (5+ years preferred; candidates with some healthcare exposure will be considered).
