We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Manager to lead our financial operations and drive fiscal excellence across the organization. The Finance Manager will oversee the company's day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, job costing, cash flow, budgeting, and reporting, for a sales-and-installation business specializing in awnings, screens, pergolas, and related outdoor living products. This role provides the financial visibility needed to make sound pricing, staffing, and growth decisions for the company.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Accounting & Bookkeeping Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing Manage month-end and year-end close processes Maintain an accurate general ledger and chart of accounts Manage bank reconciliations and day-to-day cash management Job Costing & Margin Analysis Track costs by job/installation against original estimates Analyze profit margins by product line (awnings, screens, pergolas, accessories) Flag cost overruns, pricing issues, or margin erosion to management Work with sales and operations teams to refine estimating accuracy Budgeting & Forecasting Help build the annual budget and revenue forecasts in partnership with General Manager Monitor actual performance against budget on a monthly basis Forecast weekly cash flow, accounting for seasonal demand fluctuations Model financial impact of new hires, equipment purchases, or expansion into new markets Manage vendor payment terms and purchasing towards budget Financial Reporting Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements Present financial results and trends to Management Team Support annual tax preparation in coordination with outside CPA/Accountant Compliance & Risk Ensure compliance with sales tax collection and remittance across applicable jurisdictions Maintain financial records related to contractor licensing, bonding, and insurance Support internal controls, audit readiness, and risk management practices Administrative Requirements Manage office supplies, equipment, and software/subscription accounts related to finance operations Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a timely fashion Fulfill other administrative and daily office duties as needed SKILLS Required 4+ years of accounting/finance experience, ideally in construction, home services, or a project-based business Strong knowledge of job costing and percentage-of-completion or similar project accounting methods Proficiency in QuickBooks Advanced Excel skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience in home improvement, specialty contracting, or a retail/install hybrid business Experience with CRM/job-management software integration (e.g., Buildertrend, JobNimbus, Jobber) Experience managing a team or department Join us to be part of a forward-thinking organization where your expertise will shape our financial future!
