$100,000-$175,000+ per year based on performance Position Overview LA Boat Dealer is seeking an experienced, highly organized Finance Manager to manage financing, deal structure, contracting, lender relationships, warranties, protection products, and final closings for our boat sales operation. This is a hands-on F&I position. The Finance Manager takes over once the customer has agreed to purchase and is responsible for moving the transaction from an accepted deal through financing, paperwork, funding, and delivery. The right person is strong with customers, aggressive about getting deals approved and funded, detail-oriented with documentation, and capable of maximizing backend profitability without sacrificing the customer experience. Core ResponsibilitiesFinancing & Deal Structure Process customer credit applications and submit deals to appropriate lenders Structure financing based on customer qualifications, lender programs, term, down payment, and deal economics Work lender approvals and counteroffers to maximize approvals and close difficult deals Maintain strong working relationships with marine and recreational lending institutions Present financing options professionally and clearly to customers Monitor pending approvals and aggressively follow up until deals are completed F&I Product Sales Present and sell available finance and protection products, including: Extended service contracts Marine warranties GAP or similar protection products when applicable Other dealership-approved products Maximize backend gross profit on every eligible transaction Track product penetration, finance penetration, and average backend gross per deal Ensure products are presented consistently and ethically to every qualified customer Contracts & Closings Prepare and execute all purchase, financing, warranty, and closing documents Review contracts for accuracy before customer signature Verify pricing, deposits, trade allowances, payoff information, taxes, fees, and financing terms Collect required down payments and customer funds Coordinate signatures and documentation for local and out-of-state buyers Ensure every deal has a complete and accurate deal jacket before delivery Lender Funding Prepare complete lender funding packages Submit funding packages immediately following closing Track outstanding stipulations and missing documentation Follow up with customers, lenders, and staff until all conditions are satisfied Resolve funding issues quickly Maintain accurate records of contracts in transit Work toward having completed deals funded as quickly as possible Trade-In & Payoff Coordination Verify lien and payoff information on trade-ins Obtain payoff statements when necessary Coordinate with office staff on titles, lien releases, registrations, and ownership documents Confirm all required documentation is received before completing transactions Compliance Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, lender, and dealership requirements Properly handle customer financial and personal information Maintain accurate disclosures and signed documentation Follow dealership procedures regarding identity verification, credit applications, privacy notices, and required records Maintain organized and audit-ready deal files Customer Experience Give customers a professional and straightforward closing experience Explain financing terms, payments, warranties, and documents clearly Set realistic expectations regarding approvals, funding, documentation, and delivery Resolve financing or paperwork issues before they become customer problems Maintain communication with customers throughout the closing process Internal Coordination Work closely with: Sales staff Office/title personnel Ownership Service and delivery personnel Banks and lending partners Warranty providers Insurance providers when required for closing The Finance Manager is responsible for making sure everyone involved knows exactly what is required to get each transaction closed, funded, titled, and delivered. Performance Expectations Success in this position will be measured primarily by: Finance penetration F&I product penetration Backend gross profit per unit Total monthly F&I gross profit Approval and closing percentage Funding speed Contracts-in-transit Accuracy of paperwork Compliance Customer satisfaction Number of deals successfully funded without unnecessary delays Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Previous automotive, marine, RV, powersports, or dealership F&I experience Strong understanding of consumer financing Experience working directly with banks and lenders Proven ability to sell finance and protection products Excellent closing ability Strong mathematical and organizational skills High attention to detail Professional communication skills Ability to manage multiple active deals simultaneously Strong follow-through Comfort working in a performance-driven environment Marine experience is preferred but not required for an experienced dealership Finance Manager.
