Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our accounting processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a broad range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SEC reporting standards, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements. Prepare and interpret financial statements, reports, and analyses to support executive decision-making. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with precision and timeliness. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and account analysis to maintain data integrity. Oversee internal controls to safeguard confidential information and ensure adherence to accounting standards. Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering continuous improvement in technical skills such as
GAAP, IFRS
(International Financial Reporting Standards), and governmental accounting practices. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and audit-ready. Implement or upgrade accounting software systems like Sage or Xero to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities. Monitor compliance with securities law, tax regulations, and non-profit accounting standards where applicable. Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial management initiatives to optimize organizational resources. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification highly preferred. Extensive experience in accounting roles with a strong background in corporate finance or public accounting. Proven expertise in technical accounting concepts including accrual accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation. Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements such as SEC filings or governmental reporting standards. Hands-on experience with financial software like Sage or Xero; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets for data analysis, is essential. Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and securities law regulations. Strong understanding of non-profit accounting practices, if applicable. Demonstrated ability to mentor team members effectively while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
