In this pivotal role, you will oversee the preparation of financial statements, manage complex accounting processes, and ensure accurate reporting across various financial functions. Your expertise will drive financial integrity, support strategic decision-making, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within our company. Responsibilities Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards, including SEC reporting where applicable. Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and compliance with internal controls. Supervise month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accrual accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial report writing. Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements and maintain robust internal controls across all financial operations. Mentor and develop accounting staff by providing guidance on technical accounting issues such as Wills, trusts & estate law, securities law, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting practices. Support regulatory reporting obligations, including tax filings and other external disclosures; stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations. Conduct financial analysis, cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning initiatives. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while handling complex financial data with precision using software such as Sage, Xero, Microsoft Office Suite (especially spreadsheets), and other financial software systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; or equivalent certification preferred. Extensive experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in public accounting or financial services industries. Proven expertise in technical accounting concepts including
